quality wine

Age of the vines:
22 to 39 years
Varieties:
Chardonnay
Terroir:
The grapes for this wine come from elevated, flat vineyards on the Parndorf Plain. The characteristic soils there are cooler, limy, deep gravel soils that give very ripe and complex wines but still enable the wines to develop fine, prominent fruit aromas.
Harvest:
Yield reduction to 1 bunch per shoot, carefully selected and harvested by hand on 19 September.
Vinification:
Selection of the grapes, gentle processing, 7 days’ cold maceration, controlled mash fermentation and malolactic fermentation in barrique barrels, bâtonnage, matured in barrique barrels for 16 months, bottled on 21 October 2021
Tasting notes:
light shiny straw yellow; fragrance of vineyard peach, quince and white pepper on the nose; very fine minerality with brioche and a hint of vanilla; the fruitiness continues on the palate with aromas of pineapple and mango with underlying, very discreet clove spiciness; very sappy and a long finish with a very fine note of liquorice and a good texture (04 November 2021)
